What Muffler...What and how long Resonator?
I looking to do my exhaust here soon and a buddy of mine from work had his done on his civic from header back for $200. Now he did just get a new header < not from the shop > and he already had a muffler. Pretty sure his piping wasn't SS.

I know nothing in this area and would like to know what would be a good quite muffler that isn't going to choke my motor. And also... I do plan on keeping the cat so how long of a resonator should I go with.

BTW... this is for the se-l.

Thanx Guys.

Longest res you can use I think is 18" with keeping the stock cat. 20" may, MAY be possible.

Magnaflow is great for resonators but I do not think that is what you are looking for the muffler.

Try Vibrant Performance.

Whenever I re-do my exhaust, one of these is going on there for sure.

Megan Racing makes a decent exhaust, its SS, mandrel bent, etc. I wasn't gonna do the whole crush bent exhaust again.

Case Length (in): 18.000 in. <---- Max with cat on car. Ask me how I know lol.
Case Outside Diameter (in): 6.000 in. or 5.000 in or 4.000 in <-- 6in is max for tunnel under chassis.
Overall Length (in): 24.000 in. <--- Max with cat on car.

^This is what you need to know.

P.S. you have a 98-99 and your cat is longer, so my #'s might be void for you. This applies for the 91-97 B13 and B14's.

if you want to take a little drive up to ft. Pierce there's a pretty good shop off of oleander drive called Oleander Muffler, they do pretty good work, I actually just saw one of my friends (on my way home) that had just gotten his exhaust done there today and he deleted the cat and put a 28" resonator on it (28" barrel length), and they made him a 2.5" pipe from the resonator to his aftermarket muffler for under $100 and welded everything

Megan racing's sounds like sh!t, and for the b14, their exhaust piping necks down close to the muffler so it's not truely 2.5"

I'll take a look into that can. I might just go Magnaflow for right now tho. But I have always like the blacked out look.

I have heard Megan were pretty raspy for N/A motors tho..

I ran a 2.5 inch exhaust/ssac 2.5 header on my g20 with the DE and VVL. I had it with a Forza(OBX) Pan style muffler only. Really quiet mufler, much much quieter than any damn magnaflow I ever heard. Plus that muffler is only like 60bucks shipped new.

OBX / Forza Muffler TR08-30C Neon Mirage Jetta Integra: eBay Motors (item 180516486784 end time Jun-11-10 12:51:04 PDT)

^^ I have the same model 3 inch inlet. I've had it for about 4 years now, one of my better purchases imo.
