Resetting engine monitors
How long does it take for the engine monitors to reset after clearing a check engine light? I have to smog test my 98 SE-R soon, just want to be ready.
Man I hate emissions testing. I always have a feeling my car is going to fail.

Should be the same.

There should be a TSB posted for the SRT, but I can't find it.

those drive cycles are a waste of time, they never seem to work, they tell you to run those to confirm your repair after cel's.....

unless you have an empty road with no one on it, like a test track

I hear what you are saying. Even with light trafic on the road, this looks like it would be pretty damn hard to accomplish correctly. I read that driving normal for a couple of weeks should reset it just the same?

That sounds much better. Better than doing all that **** in the link above.

Don't forget to mix up your driving. The Catalyst monitor and EGR are both set at cruise speeds over 45. But the EVAP system is set over a series of drive cycles, (trips).

How many drive cycles? I read somewhere 40 drive cycles should be good.
