i would go with something with the most torque output like a de motor with bolt ons or go with a det. torque is whats going to help you get out in front on those tracks

Stay NA. If you go turbo, you'll spend more time wrenching/draining your wallet than driving. 2 cents.

Add to your list:

1) Prothane motor mount inserts or equivalent. Protect that tranny.

2) Redline Heavy Shockproof tranny fluid. It's pink and goopy, must be good.

3) Andreas Miko Tranny Saver Bracket. http://www.sr20-forum.com/naturally-aspirated/11706-tranny-brackets-sale.html

4) Possible oil-cooler. Seems extra necessary on VE's (?). Threads on that subject abound.

5) A real gauge cluster. Keep an eye on important fluids and temperatures. Like this: http://www.sr20forum.com/technical-information-library/143411-gauge-installation-writeup-gauges.html

I'm with all the folks (Chris101, Hammerin' Hank, etc...) saying learn the car first, figure out the suspension and get your skills up, before adding in serious power.

In all honesty, if youre trying to build a track car, I wouldn't modify or swap out the engine just yet. The more stuff you do to it, the less competitive (IMHO) you will be.

Advice I should have taken before getting bit by the turbo bug.

Hammerin Hank is speaking the truth. Safety is the most important, then driving time.
