Thread: How to take apart the alternator?

Does anyone know how to take apart the alternator? I want to re-paint mine and was only able to remove the front cover. The guts do not want to come out of the "basket" (The rotating assy). Does anyone know how to disassemble the alternator?

When I painted mine I just put painters tape inside of it, or you could even use paper, just use a screwdriver and needle nose pliers to weave it through the alty, I think it took me less than 15mins to put it all in there
