Thread: Blowing oil out the dip stick only when in higher boost. Bad headgasket?

lol who pulls a head BEFORE a comp test? UNless they have a head gasket and some studs waiting. Id pull the motor before the head! When are you back in the states fool?

yeah, but if the gasket is leaking bad enough how are you going to tell if its the rings, gasket or valves that or leaking?

Look to buy rings and maybe pistons

you can also do a leak down test. I start with a comp test just to see what is going on.

The same thing happened on my old sentra. We compression tested it, leak down tested it, and everything checked out. I tried replacing the pcv, and tried rerouting things... still did it. I ended up using a band of shrink tube on the dipstick stopper to keep it in there real snug and drove the piss out of it. No more problems.

Mine recently did this to me as well. I went to drive my car and heard it ticking. After finding I was a quart low on oil I saw my dipstick popped up and oil my wastegate and alternator. Hasn't done this recently though. When it happened it was after a long drive in hot weather. Haven't looked into it yet.

Yeah cause its so much easier to replace head parts than to do a little investigating. Thats just bad advice.

well if its any of the already stated issues, the head will have to come off to fix them. Why beat around the bush?
