Feels like i've missed the boat on modifying this car

Hotshot got ran out of business because people took there design and replicated on the cheap in China. Typical, but expected.

There is nothing wrong with an eBay header, imho. Plenty of people on here run those daily and love them. Sound quality from a header? Sound will be mostly influenced form the cat and back.

Yeah, but you always hear about problems with fitment, broken welds, ETC. on eBay headers. I don't have the means to weld or die grind a piece of crap header into fruition. The fact that nobody is stepping up and saying 'i bought one of these on eBay and don't have any problems with it' is not assuring.

I wonder if these Chinese companies just shift around continuously, selling the same thing under different names. Because the stuff on eBay, if it has a name.. it's actually some other header.

Otherwise, you'd think some eBay company would come around and continuously make something reliable and gain a reputation. Nothing i'm finding looks anywhere near legitimate.

The closest thing i can find is an OBX SS header, but on obx's page they have no real info about it, and they have 3 different pictures of completely different headers on their website. Call me a sceptic.

I'm contacting nopi to see what the diameter of theirs is. I'll take a 2.25 wide, but not a 2.5 wide. I will not be modding this car heavily ( cams, tune, etc ) and don't want to lose a lot of low-end torque.

For what it is worth, I thought Weapon R was a good name...

my header is cracked above cylinder 3 right where the flange meets the tubing (cracked around a few months ago) and I had to grind two nuts in order to get them to go on the studs during install.

I have seen a header cracked from every manufacturer, it happens.

Def. never trust pictures, but always ask questions. Squeaky wheels get oil!!!

Let me know about the NOPI answer.

If I had money to buy one right now, I would find the eBay seller with the most amount of positive responses, ask them all the questions to make sure and then probably pull the trigger if the price is in the sub-$150 zone. Let me know what you decide with, or just continue updating this thread.

First of all,do we really have 2 pages already about these headers....again?
A little searching would give you more info than you know what to do with.
Ok ,that being said( I guess I am the search nazi this time:roflI will step up and say I have bought 4 Ebay Headers(4 different cars) over the last 6-8 years, and have very minor fitment issues, they come with cheap gaskets, but thats an easy fix.
Sometimes the holes may not line up exactly, but a step drill it will fix that, and sometimes the EGR can be a pain to line up.
Overall the welds and materials are unbeleivably good.It is hard to believe they can even make these for under 100 shipped.

My .02
Just get the 2.5 header and move on to your next mod.You are spending WAY too much effort and time worrying about it.
Everyone just refers to those generic chinese headers as SSAC,since they were the original rip-off artists.I am not sure about the other ebay headers weld quality and fitment issues, but for our cars, they are very minor issues,if at all.

Hope this helps and welcome to our great community

SSAC for almost 4 or 5 years now. Still stong. Flex pipe is just showing signs of tearing. Still no leak. And when it does it is off to a 2.5. I will only buy from SSAC.

Pretty White: All that SSAC seems to sell is the 2.5 now, at least on their website... otherwise i'd suck it up and pay the $200 + $40 shipping.

Says it fits the '01 models. Perhaps i can find a stock exhaust manifold off a g20 if i look hard enough, since apparently the exhaust manifold design never really changed.

Here's what NOPI says about their header:

Them:

"The warehouse just called the pipe is1.5 inches Thank You"

Me:
"Thank you for that response. That is weird though. Because the stock headers for the sr20de cars are about 1.75-2.0 wide or so.

Most aftermarket header listings on eBay usually have a measurement on their listings, like so:

91 92 93 94 95 96 INFINITI G20 SR20DE STAINLESS HEADER: eBay Motors (item 270541650310 end time Jun-02-10 22:19:33 PDT)

91 92 93 94 95 96 INFINITI G20 STAINLESS HEADER SR20DE: eBay Motors (item 150415282773 end time Jun-17-10 13:20:42 PDT)

Would you be willing to provide images like this?"

Them:

"The way they do it is nice I just do not have the information they are using and some of the information is different than what I have but that is not uncommon different manufactures design differently and theres may have a modification that allows it to fit. Thank You"

Uhhhh...... not confidence inspiring. I'll pass.

Did you ever end up finding a header?

Now, I am looking to purchase one!

the oem cat=~2.5"

go with @ least a 2.5 header collector...to avoid restrictions at the flange. likewise the cat-back.

header sr20de for a search criteria
this is the very first one on the page.
less than $100 shipped. keep the (CHINESE ECONOMY) strong!!

91 92 93 94 95 96 INFINITI G20 SR20DE STAINLESS HEADER: eBay Motors (item 150415280640 end time Jul-17-10 13:14:32 PDT)

look closely at the inlet measurements. i've yet to see an actual 2" inlet at the engine side. 17/8 is the norm mostly, and that is what my ASP "budget " header is.

This was the first one that I noticed it actually measured the primaries with a tape measure. I guess I will purchase this one and help China out, just this last time...
