well even with a defective starter, it is very easy to go to on my Maxima vs my old Sentra...so i guess removing it a couple of time to get one right wouldnt be so bad...and if it takes a dump in 10 years ( exagerated i know ).....lifetime warranty FTW!!

I've got the lifetime warranty at autozone. I'm glad I did it cause I've hooked so many of my friends up with free starters and also got one for my other sentra for free. Best part is I only had to buy 1. :]

That's basically a good way to shift the cost of starters onto other SR20 owners.
I usually just get them off of JDM motors or the u pull it. I hate pulling them but once you have your technique down its alright. Still only had 2 fail on me ever.
Had a bad time with an autozone alternator as well. Again jdm engines often have these too and certainly the junk yard has them.

I have a beck arnley rebuilt starter in my car. It's only been in the car for 2 months though. Whatever, it was worth the $75 with LT warranty

I work in the automotive aftermarket and it is very rare that I have to return any rebuilt import starters. Most that people think are bad bench test fine and it ends up being another problem.

Only slightly off topic, my DE starter works fine but squeels every once in a while... I really dont want to install it with my VE next week, will the VE starter work properly on a manual transmission? It appears to have one more tooth.
