I vote on buying a stock turbo car too.

I believe about half a dozen people told you that the tensioner wasnt your problem, but you buy one and get it installed anyway?

Buy an evo and dont EVER touch anything. When you go to the gas station, go to full service.

The real JMR can do your work, but whats the chances something unrelated goes wrong and you dont blame them for everything. If I owned a shop, I wouldnt touch your b14.

I'm still hung up on how quickly this engine failed considering a certified shop did this whole build for you. Are they taking no responsibility for this at all? You seem to be just going with what they're telling you. Really, look more into it and find what went wrong and why. I'm willing to bet it was a bad build that the shop did, in which case I'd be all over them like stink on sh!t.

There is no reason any of these motors shouldn't last at least 150k.

I don't want to be a downer but I strongly agree with others that if you don't want to try and learn to work on the car yourself get a stock car.

There are allot of excellent options out these days you will have just as much fun with and no headache!

Good luck.

listen this may be harsh. but its reality.

cars are obviously not for you. tuner cars that is.

you have no ability to work on cars your self.

you think i have it in for you. i dont. i can assure you of that.

what does annoy me is your ignorance and quickness to point the finger, when you your self have no idea whats truely going on with the car.

like some one else mentioned. go buy an evo or a sti and call it a day.

this scene, this culture this society is not for you, at this stage in your life. do your homework and one day youll have your own answers instead of asking other people.

good luck.

Setting up salt water tanks after you really get the hang of it is probably quite repetative. Automotive work is always changing, nothing is ever done the same way. Setups are always changing. And things will always need different work than others. There is a lot of technical work that is involved. Measurements, specs, torques, and so on.

Its not something that you just entrust to any shop. Cuz yes, probably 75% of the shops out there are there to just make money and take advantage of their customers. There is very very few trustworthy shops. This is why people are starting to work on things themselves more often.
