Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Code? B13 w/ JDM DE
So I recently put in a jdm sr20de in my 92 b13 se-r. The check engine light is on so I checked codes with nissan data scan. It's telling me "exhaust gas temperature sensor". So I cleared the codes thinking it didn't matter because I don't have EGR anymore, but the light came back on like 5 minutes after starting the car again. So wtf? What does this code mean? Haynes manual says only California cars have the exhaust gas temperature sensor. I'm wondering if this code tells the ECU anything like causing it to retard timing or something stupid like that. Why would the car run fine though? Please help. I'm stumped.

exactly. i think maybe i somehow got a california ecu? or its throwing the code just cause it was throwing it before the swap, too.

IF youre wondering if its running fine (idk if its true or not) but Ben at jwt said there are 2 transistors in the ecu. One controls the actual running of the engine and the other controls the emmision systems.

He said that because I was throwing these egr-related codes, I should still be fine.

Theres no such thing a cali ecu. I have 4 stock 91-93 ecu and none of them get this code. there shouldnt be a difference from the ecu in usa.

Then what could cause this code? Bad O2 sensor? OR could a stopped up cat cause this somehow?
