Is there a limit on the B13 wiring harness
I have the opportunity to have my alternator rebuilt by a highly reputable shop that has been in business locally for over 30 years. For half the cost of a rebuilt chain alty. Been there, done that. The only thing an Auto Zone alternator is good for is teaching you how to change your alternator.

There is the possibility to have it rebuilt with higher output, so my question is how much can the stock harness handle?

i dont think i would see a problem with it holding 200 amps. alot has to do with how much the demand is

You won't have any problem with that. Most of the time they're rebuilt for it, they really only make higher amperage at higher rpm anyway.

All I know is that back in the day people would upgrade the alternator wiring because it is puny. I've gone to 8 gauge on mine (and it's real simple to do so).

An alternator capable of a higher output current (they all output a regulated voltage around 13.5V) won't put out more current than is necessary to supply the loads. As long as the load doesn't change, the alternator output won't change. The harness is sized to carry the loads, and the loads are protected from excessive current by fuses. A higher output alternator allows you to add more load than the stock alternator is capable of supplying.

Cliff notes: (no offense TeKKie)
Joe, your harness will be fine.

The big question here is why? Your not running anything that demands more than the stock accessories are you? Last I checked you didn't have 1000 watts and 2 12's in the trunk....
