too big of current draw? are you running a huge sound system?

loose or possibly it had a high volts shoot through it.

no sound system caar is stock all it has is a ve swap...

Corrosion, replace it and use some sort of anti corrosion paste.

^Yeah corrosion, I use petroleum jelly. It works well and it is cheap, the FSM calls for it sometimes too.

that happened to me too. in the middle of a damn blizzard. on the way home from work. fixed it and it hasen't happened again.

If I'm not mistaken isn't the alternator a huge ground make sure you are not touching it with the positive. There should be a rubber piece protecting the connector from touching the alternator
