I used the prybar method, but chipped off part of the pulley. Didn't matter since I was taking it off to put on my UR one.

the pully remover i used grabs onto the pulley from the back side and instead of the 2 bolts pushing against block, it has one giant bolt that presses against the crank itself. i had no problem removing it without damage. i have also used the pry method....just being very cautious when doing so.

after reading page 2 i see that is the pulley remover you used. sorry about that

Man BORNGEARHEAD you sound old 15 years is a long time. but yes prybar method no problems.

No doubt that it works, just be careful if you arent used to that method.......

almost every sr ive done ive just took off the bolt and wiggled it off. ive had to use a screwdriver on maybe one occasion and it came off with very little prying. But you guys in places with snow yours might tend to get a little corroded or rusty making it more difficult. If it came down to that i would just use my slide hammer. 5lb at that. thread two bolts into the two holes, connect them to my adapter for my slide hammer and pound it off. just did it to a friends pulley on a toyota motor. worked quite well i must say. haha Slide hammer FTW

Same here, only 5 years, but still.

On all of my SR20DE motors I've been able to use a plain old pully puller to remove the crank pulley. On all of my VG30DETT motors I've seen the edges break off like you did. On all of those I just use a harmonic balance puller. Both can be rented for free from autozone, or just go out and buy em, they're like $15/each or so for cheap ones.
