dude sorry to hear about this. My mechanic and I had a lil problem getting it off. Since I worked at autozone I borrowed 2 types of pullers and use the one with 3 claws and took one claw off. it came right off, but it did start ruining the stock crank pulley, but it's still usable. There's a How-To thread on Gnet.

here's a pic from the thread

This thread is a few monthes old now. Ive had my new crank in for a while now. The slide hammer is what worked. It took all of 5 pissed off hard pulls for it to come off. My hands hurt for three days after though!

I could write a book on how to swap a crank out now. I wanted to do a write up. But I didnt have my camera

Lemme guess - this is on your 93 NX2K? Those pulleys get old and separate in the middle, and actually can screw you up when you try to set the timing. It doesn't surprise me that it came completely out.

old post but i'm having the same problem with my moms 1.6....

found out that the m6 x 1.00 is not the size that fits... over on sr20forum someone noted that it was m6 x 1.25... I'm like cool! But you can't find it....

Went to a Fastener spcialty store and they didn't have it after going to 4 other places.... any other ideas!?!

I pick bolts up in that size all the time at Home Depot...

On another note, I've ALWAYS pulled my pullies off the crank using the prybar method. GENTLE is the key word. I will tap the prybar handle towards the block on either side of the pulley, then rotate the crank a 1/4 turn and do the same thing. It takes a little time, but it's easily accomplished. Best thing to do once you remove the pulley, is slap some anti seize on the crank pulley shaft before putting it back on, in a very light coat. Won't be as difficult to remove the next time you need to pull it.

There has to be bolts on your engine or close by that are M6x1.25 that you can "borrow" for this.

Maybe its weird but in all the SR's FWD and RWD I have never had to use a puller (over 20+). I use the wiggle method.

wang wang..

CRANK PULLEY EXTRACTOR

snap on sells one... or better yet.. the crank pulley has very small screw holes.. find 2 screws long enough an bolt them in simultanouesly an it should pop off. dont lose the pin.

go look at the pulley youll see what i mean.. as you tighten the screws into the pulley it pushes away from the oil pump an BAM pulleys out. cant do this on URpulleys though.

NO don't screw them till it pops off you will damage oil pan or the front seal permanently!
