Weird shifting problem
Typically my car shifts like butter but the other day after shifting out of 5th to come to a light it was really difficult after that to put into 1st, launches funny (can feel a slight grinding going on), and the friction point seems much closer to the floor. I adjusted the clutch cable, and it seems that it drove the same. Left the car for 5 hours, drove fine after that, no issues. This morning still not bad, but I'd rather find the culprit before my wife has to take it someplace and can't shift!

I've had a rear motor mount slip before, and this seems more like the engine shifted right left to be tough to shift into first gear and 5th, but again, I'm really unsure.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a failing clutch cable but I'm not real confident in that assessment. When you adjusted the clutch cable it should have changed the pick-up point. If it didn't that's also pointing to a problem with the clutch cable.

check where the actual steel braided cable goes into the adjusting/cscrew arm at the end of the cable...i adjusted a clutch cable before and as soon as i went to start it,pushed int the clutch, and snap, the braided cables slipped and was a no go...had to go to the dealer to get the RIGHT one...napa,az,murrays,advanced all had the same part number as a 1.6 cable....

hey ive got a new used OEM nissnaclutch cable from the dealer....was used for about a year....paid 100$ for it....sell it for 50 shipped!!

For some reason it also shifts hella better in colder weather - go figure. And yes, I think I did reuse the clips.
