rip in the boot can cause it, you could be loosing axle greese, if the axles are clicking you more than likly have a bad cv joint this will case the sound like a clicking.. it could just be your cv joint making the clokcing noise all together

the little joints in there getting loose, usually from lack of lubrication and dirt and water getting in there...Heavy use will cause it too.

The boots can be busted for a long time before all the grease comes out and they start to click. Unless you live on a dirt road or something.

The reason they are clicking is because the axles have developed some pits where the roller balls work. The pits come from road grit and grim that gets in when the boots are torn and not attended to promptly.

lol little joints?

Ya actually if you take the joint apart, you will see grooves worn into the cup that the ball bearings sit in. And when you turn the wheel, the ball bearings will slide in and out of the grooves causing the clicking noise.

The most common cause is lack of lubrication. Either a boot gets torn or there wasn't enough grease in there to properly lubricate things. I've seen CVs go for 200K miles easily with multiple boot replacements and still work fine. Even on cars driven by teenagers.

oh no! lol. man read up on everything before you attempt to do this. you gotta get the lsd axles you have to use the crossmember . use the motor mout that comes with your spare tranny. and i would just find a 5 speed harness so you wont have to wire up anything. what year is your car?
