I've put dozens of junk yard motors in cars. Not once have I done anything like that. If you're feeling froggy go ahead it won't hurt anything. You could just take the fuel pump fuse out and crank it.

personally i would put some oil in the cylinders, i would get a new oil filter, fill the oil filter with oil before installation that way the engine has oil in the filter right away, i do this on all oil changes, other than that, you should be pretty good i would put oil in the cylinders without spark plugs crank over the engine to build both oil pressure and make sure your plugs dont get covered in oil. then put them back in an start it

I used rotella 15w40 but mine is an avenir motor. Just use whatever oil you would normally use

just use any oil that you are partial to. i personally like the k&n oil filters for the sr20 they filter down to smaller microns than the puro however to each their own. a tea or tablesoon of oil will work, crank the engine over to get build the oil pressure and coat the cylinders then put your plugs in and start it then you should be set.

are you doing any other tune up stuff on the engine after that

I might change the plugs, After I see how it runs. And my dist. is fresh from a B15 so everything there is good. And the wires are the ones that came with the VE. Ill change those down the road...

Anything u recommend(sp?)

yes disconnect the fuel pump fuse and also your distributor so that your injectors dont spray fuel. then you all good to prime the engine. id crank it for a full minute to get the engine fully primed.
