Want to use a ga16 clutch cable. Too short?
This may have been posted already, and it is an extremely obvious fix to the problem, but here it goes. If you have installed a GA clutch cable, and found that it is too short, and your not able to adjust properly there is an easy fix.
- Remove the black bracket that mounts to the transmission, and holds the clutch cable.
- Drill two holes of equal size 1/2" away from the existing holes. Drill the new holes closer to the bend in the bracket.
- Reinstall bracket using the new holes you drilled. The entire bracket should be sitting close to the front of the car now.
After doing this your GA cable will work like a charm, and have full adjustment. If you even go back to an SR cable you can use the old bolt holes.
It may sound stupid, but I'm sure people have dealt with not being able to adjust their cables properly or even get them on when using the GA cable.
