Quick question about engine temps
After swapping radiators, my engine temps seem to be going up at highway speed and down in bumper to bumper. WTH? Is it not bled enough? Thermostat? I am using a 1.1 Rad cap that came with the radiator.

I have mad air in the system. I just swapped the thermostat. I am getting the coolant flushed tomorrow. (I do not have the paitence anymore to bleed this thing) Funny thing is I been having this problem since 2004. I found some old post on the Sr20forum. LOL.

Could it just be RPM related?

@Danja, I am not certain. I know when I pulled the old thermostat it was covered in sediment. Yuch I am going to boil it if I remember this afternoon and see if it opens. Also, my slim fans are bolted in the stock location, which is about 3/4-1"off of the radiators. I think for more effective cooling I am better off putting them on the rad and using slim fan straps for faster cooldown. Fans do not come on @highway speed right? I suspect air.

did you try replacing the thermostat? it could be stuck open and at highway temps the engine heats up and at lower temps the coolant flow doesnt regulate i had this issue on my volvo 850GLT it ended up being the thermostat stuck open

Yeah, I replaced it last night. I am going to have the system power flushed today. All this to buy time on the motor till I can start the bodywork. Freaking car...lol
