real world who knows.

i do know this 718r .86 @ 16psi, s4's, 740cc inj, 3 bar, 300zx fuel pump drinks fuel like a mack truck ! hahaha.

my 3 liter pathfinder is a pig, my all motor sr20's always got nice mpg.

you want good mpg's get a 91 ef sedan with the dual point injection, i could go forever on one tank.

Your mpg is directly linked to how heavy your right foot is

I tried 4 bar, didn't see any improvements. My car is weird though

Not always, driving too slow, or taking too long to get up to the cruising speed will also hurt gas mileage.

After seeing how my turbo setup (T28) with 370's at 3bar getting ~24mpg, I am very tempted to go outside and install my Aeromotive FPR right now to see ANY kind of improvement closer to that! lol

slightly off topic: is it safe to run 4bar on a stock fuel pump?

dang there is a lot of replies here..

I do have new CV joints, new K&N air filter, new distro/rotor, new plugs/wires and change oil regularly.

What I haven't done and NEED to do, wheel bearings and brake inspection.. my brakes could be rubbing a little, who knows.. and I do have some wheel bearing issues..

I have not cleaned out the throttle body/EGR system, I will be having an alignment done as soon as I get my hypercoils and koni's on.. Also I am buying an intake thermoblock spacer and plan to clean up the intake mani a little when I pull it off...

better idea would be to get a ecu that you can tune with and get a wideband then tune for better gas mileage, without tuning the engine for better gas mileage buying new parts such as fuel reg/fuel pump/fuel injectors to me should only net you near stock mpg like others said maybe 1-3mpg more nothing special and alot of money spend for no reason

So you don't think it's possible that my 19 year old car might need something cleaned or something fixed?

I'm getting on long trips I get 26/28 mpg
I have a stock motor.

I drive conservatively on these trips to attempt to get good mileage.. It's not a heavy right foot issue, because I used to get 22/24 on the highway until I dropped my insurance while unemployed and going through bankruptcy (back in 2008) and then started getting 26/28 on the highway..

I drive from Tulsa to KC and used to drive from Tulsa to Dallas quite a bit.. I know it's not a lead foot issue.. Something is wrong with my car, and finding the problem that is killing my mpg's might also restore throttle response, horse power and increase the life of my engine.

the age itself can be affecting gas mileage things like low compression, dirty intake manifold or TB, possible exhasut leak
proper tire pressure can play a big role
check your tps voltage
clean the maf

there are alot of little things you can do that add up

Jeez that's bad, even my turbo car gets 28-30mpg and I beat on it senselessly

Check your wheel bearings and wheels, make sure they are spinning freely. Basically jack up the car and spin them by hand. Also check your hand brake and adjust it, Mine was causing my rears to drag.
