I have not seen one that separated, but I'm guessing you'd see the rubber
will be cracked/separated all the way around, between the two pieces.
Rotate engine to TDC on cyl 1.
Timing marks should line up similar to the pics in the thread I posted above.
Check the FSM also - EM (engine, mechanical), Timing Chain Installation/Removal pages EM-17 through EM-30.
You'll want that on hand for your cam install also.

Well, changed to s4 cams. Crank pulley showed up at TDC w/the sprockets and #1 cylinder. Not sure what's going on. I have a knock sensor CEL (need to fix knock sensor wiring). But I'd think that it would retard timing, not advance it + I'm not sure if it affects base timing at all anyways. Will set the timing tomorrow using Consult cable and see what's going on.
