I have not seen one that separated, but I'm guessing you'd see the rubber
will be cracked/separated all the way around, between the two pieces.
Rotate engine to TDC on cyl 1.
Timing marks should line up similar to the pics in the thread I posted above.
Check the FSM also - EM (engine, mechanical), Timing Chain Installation/Removal pages EM-17 through EM-30.
You'll want that on hand for your cam install also.
