Thread: Power @40mph?

When I'm driving and i'm in 2nd gear let's say I floor it from 20mph, once I hit 40mph I literally can feel the car push me back and it just starts speeding up a whole hell of a lot faster. Feel's like I give it extra throttle.

Mods are Custom CAI, pacesetter header and stage 3 clutch, 2 1/2in catback, stock muffler.

Check engine light is on for the EGR, code 32.

Idle is at 800rpm's but goes up and down between maybe 800-900.

New spark plugs, cap and rotor, cleaned the intake mani, cleaned a bunch of sensor's with electrical cleaner.

This is about how it picks up speed in 3rd also. (THIS IS NOT MY CAR just an example of how it pulls in 3rd gear which is faster than 2nd before 40mph)

That arrow is moving fairly quick for NA . Though it does look like it's little more then 7 seconds 0-60

20mph you should be in 1st gear

am I missing something or did you post up a video of a DET swapped 240sx to show how your NA, not even a VE sentra accelerates?

2 words - torque & curve

i agree both torque powercurve and mph are all having to do with the way your car feels at those particular speeds, it also sounds like you might be shifting early too

Only time I really tested it since yesterday after my custom CAI install I was going slightly downhill at about a 20 degree angle

and @GT2871BLUBIRD Sometimes when getting on the freeway ect I don't feel like shifting into 1st @20 mph to get that little extra 15mph lol



There could be a torque curve THAT bad on a basic bolt on sr20de?

ummm really? like thats how all my DE's are. doing a 40 mile roll on second will give you the same experience as doing a 60 mph roll on 3rd gear...
