Alternator Pivot Bolt / Help
Hi
I have researched in the old forum, as well as here, about the infamous alternator pivot bolt problem, as a consequence of realizing that mine was missing, and that was the cause of that annoying rattle under my hood, I dont know how many time has the alternator been hanging only by the tensioning bracket, but until now, it have been working and charging well.
I found that the missing pivot bolt was a common problem, and a lot of information and tips about securing with loctite the nut, etc, but haven't found the exact size of the pivot bolt, and its length, I just need a provisional replacement ASAP until the original bolt arrive to the dealership, don't want to drop my alternator on the highway, even if it has been hanging there without problems for a long time
Would appreciate if some one can tell me the characteristics of that bolt and nut, metric would be better (aren't all Nissan bolts metric?)
thanks a lot, and sorry for my English, not my native language
greetings from Mexico
almost forgot, my car is a Highport Classic, aka 2000 GSR in Mexico
