Thread: Mystery coolant leak need help please

Today while driving I noticed the smell of coolant. Made it back home fine, then I notice coolant dripping onto the ground. Put the car up on jackstands and started the car up, and it's leaking like crazy. At first I though water pump, but it doesn't look like its coming from the water pump. I have no idea where this leak is coming from, so I really need some help on this one. Thanks guys.

Hard to say from those pics but I would guess it's on or around the big water line behind the engine...

Agreed, There are two lines back there, either one could be the culprit.

Damn that sounds like a pita to get to. I can't see exactly where it is leaking from. It only leaks when the car is running.

take the manifold off it might not seem easier but trust me its awful fitting your hands in there trying to replace it.

Damn I have a 98 too. All that **** on the manifold I have to deal with . Well it needs to be delt with. Thanks guys for responding so fast, you guys are awesome.

Get under the car, and look up the back of the engine, you should be able to see the 2 rubber hoses under the intake manifold

yep its them 2 little hoses
