Since it is a compounded problem fix what you know is broken first, that idle valves are like $20.That will help make finding the other issue easier. For hunting idle or high idle after warmed up, pinch the hose that is before the throttle.

If you were spraying recently go over the easy stuff. Plugs, and the rest of the ignition. Do the easy unplug test on the injectors one at a time, see if the car idles the same or worse. Worse means it is fine the same means it isn't working. Then move on check the TPS, O2, and MAF one at a time. Check Fuel pressure maybe a compression test if you still haven't found it. You can pinch the hoses coming off of the valve cover and watch for idle changes which tells you if it is a vac leak. Move on to the power system next check battery and alt as well as grounds

I've found after being pretty sure all other sensors are pretty much ok, replacing PCV made the bucking go away. The FSM test is a bit strange, but after trying a couple of times I was sure my PCV was in pretty bad shape.

The bucking always was there with cold engine and sometimes with warmed engine in very low rpm.

i agree from working on the sr20de/t they are pretty simplistic in design start weeding out things you know are good and work towards the problem at hand check all vacuum lines clean the iacv/aac valve/throttle even if you know they are good just to indefinityly weed those out then go from there

It fixed itself lol.

I was messing with all the vacum lines this afternoon. On my intake pipe I have a big hose and a small hose. The small one goes to a vacum port right behind the throttle body, I think that originally went to the charcoal canister. I took this small hose off the intake pipe and was messing with it, putting my finger over the end and such, and noticed at some point that it was idling like it was supposed to. At that point I turned the car back off, hooked it back the way it was, and restarted the car. It idled perfect lol. Then I went for a ride and I'll be damned if the decel issue wasn't fixed to. I don't know what was wrong. Maybe something was in that hose who knows.

wait so you put the hose back behind the throttle body?

Yep, it connects to the intake pipe on the smaller nipple and goes to a port right behind the throttle body that points like this \. It's been like that for YEARS.

I guess maybe mine is screwed up vacuum lines then. I wasnt having a problem with it until i took my motor out, then put it back in, and must have done something different with the vacuum lines. I drove my car once(for a race) and couldnt take it anymore after that. Hopefully I get this fixed

CURSES if I didn't have the same exact problem today on the way to work

I should have stayed away from this thread, as it infected my car

Only difference: No AAC valve. I guess I'm just going to yank some of the vacuum lines and replace them with higher quality silicone hoses. Gives me yet another reason to adjust my TPS voltage (finally).
