continued p10 problems......power loss
So, I've tried almost evrything I can think of. Basically, as the car reaches operating temp, it looses hp/throttle response, till the point its almost undriveable. Its a 93 p10 g20, 5 speed. It runs fine till UNTILL it warms up. then it starts to buck hard underanything more than 1/3 wot. I've replaced with KNOWN working parts the coil, distributor, wires, ignitor, maf, fuel pump. I had been told a temp sensor would not cause this problem, so I have not yet tried this. All my ideas are mechanical right now....bad cat converter, bent throttleplate, bad intake gasket....butthat wouldn't. Explain why itruns fine whenthe car is cold. Maybe the knock sensor is bad and the ecu is pulling timing? I dunno guys, please help!

also.....the problem is GREATLY affected by load. if the road is flat, or even better at anything more than a 1% down grade, the car runs ALMOST flawlessly. but, on the other hand, if its going uphill, you might as well get out and push. The only way i could maintain speed on the highway this morning was to downshift, and even that was a stretch. taking an off ramp.....geez. it just sucks, i have no time to diagnose the car.....i work so much its out of the question. trying to daily it, but i might just have to use my turbo nx. its also killing gas milege. seems like at least 2 gallons over 35 miles.

****ty problem. Getting the errorcodes if any and inspection of general maintenance would help. Also check for leaks. This one needs diagnosing, I would recommend getting Datascan + understanding of what Datascan reads or hand it over to the stealership before you spend good money it.

yeah,i have no cels. i guess i could tyr scanning it. and the coolanttempsensor. by the way, ambient air temperature changes seem to affect it too.

I only can explain how to get the codes with a paperclip and some patience on OBDI cars. It should be possible on OBDII too but I don't know what pins to short.

This is what I have in mind:

I discovered this to be working by reading FSM about errorcodes and googling this page:

Then it's better to check for proper connection because that will be the only thing the O2 error that might be found. You need something like Datascan to be able to say something about the state of the O2 sensor.

So just replacing it might be a good idea.
