Temperature gauge and engine speed.
hi guys. i am currently having an issue. when the car is fully warmed up, while driving the temp gauge drops as the RPM rises. It reads normal up until about 4k and then i will drop to just above the "Cold" line. anyone have any ideas? the car is a b14 with a u12 bluebird DET.
thanks

does it just drop, and hold? or does it kinda dance around like it's trying but not really getting anywhere?

I having similar issues that haven't been solved. My tach continues to rise at a very slow pace and my temp gauge will drop as I rev it.

so, can you control how far your temp gauge goes down by revving? as in, when the tach goes up, the temp goes down with it? or is it more of a "once the tach hits a certain RPM, the temp tanks" sort of thing?

Also, same question for you. Does it drop and hold, or does it drop and sort of move and giggle around?

its the connection at the temp sender

^yes look for the single wire sender in the intake manifold and see if it wiggles, if so that's your problem

if i drive anywhere between 1000-3000 rpms, its stable. normal temperature and it doesnt move. but as i go past it and reach higher RPMS, it goes down gradually and smoothly. it doesnt dance around. once i shift to a higher gear, it goes back up to normal temperature (smoothly) .

Idk possible air bubble in engine, try bleeding the coolant system
there should be a bolt next to the top bolt on the thermostat housing loosen/remove the bolt and fill radiator with coolant till a steady stream of coolant comes out and replace bolt

For this, I'm seeing electrical issues for the gauge, specifically a ground issue. My gut tells me it's something on the cluster that's not grounded properly, but it could be corroded or loose grounds in the engine bay as well. I'd check them all and check them again, and see if it doesn't fix it.

its nuthing man. Nuthing to worry about n e ways. My car does the samething. When i floor it and pass a certain rmp the temp gauge will just drop like a sack of potatoes and then rise back. Its electrical and i know its electrical. So i wouldnt worry to much about it. Change your temp sender and see what happens
