"knocking" when turning? Faster based upon turning speed.
I'm not 100% sure if it's the CV itself, or if I need to look elsewhere.

It's not a clicking when turning, it's more of a popping/thud type of sound, when turning. Normally when turning right, and sounds like it's coming from the left side of the vehicle. The LSD operates fine, though.

Could it be the axle? It looked practically new when I grabbed it off the shelf to install it. The noise was not present prior to installing the LSD trans with LSD axle.

I had my cv joint brake on my drivers side axle while I was going down the road straight. The boot looked great, but when I grabbed both sides of the axle they had serious play. Same thing happened to my friend a week ago. Could be something completely different though.

probably and axle...Mine is going bad right now and makes some weird noises when I turn and it goes faster and faster as I accelerate. Why do axles always go bad on these damn cars? I have gone through quite a few, even on my DD that doesn't get beat on they just seem to wear out quickly.

Thanks, looks like I'm going to have to pick up another axle and some more gear oil then if it's on it's way out right now I'm 2.5 hours from home, and headed to CT this weekend. I'd REALLY hate to have it break down on me more than 30 minutes from home.

It's a long shot but our front anti-sway bar links are known failure points and make quite a loud clunking noise when one of them fails (and you make a turn).

If you dont find it to be the axle, check your ball joints

The balljoints are new, less than 3K miles on them since I replaced both control arms. The tie rod ends were also replaced during the same time. I haven't done anything with the sway bar.

Now, it doesn't seem to want to make the knocking sound when warm out. And if I do a spirited turn, it doesn't make the noise.

Strange thing, this car

Have you taken the wheels back off and gone over all the bolts you removed when doing the LSD install? I had a clunking noise similar to what you're describing after I swapped my tranny a few months ago, and when I took the driver's side wheel off one of the caliper bolts had worked its way loose enough for it to clank like that at higher speeds and when turning. Might not be your issue, but it can't hurt to check them all before you decide to replace anything man.
