When I remove the AC from my B14, it will only be the stuff under the hood. Everything else behind the firewall will be capped off...

you have to think if your going to ever sell your car you want to be able to have it with AC

Make sure to cap off the ac lines or the thing under the dash may get too much moisture in it and burst.

why would moisture cause it to burst?

This is wrong. There is nothing under there that can burst.

if your serious about it and are not gonna put it back at any point, this is lurking in the air collector box, under the dash

pretty weighty, doesnt take long to remove and is just as simple to put back

I pulled everything when i did mine. Once you get the dash out there are 4-5 10mm bolts that hold the exchanger in. You can gut it and put the plastic shell back in the keep the functionality. I used some caulk to seal the holes in the grommets and put them back in the firewall as well.

I've decided to remove my a/c as well. It doesn't work anymore, and I don't really need a/c in socal. Though I don't think I will go as far as to remove the stuff under the dash. Everything in the engine bay will be taken out. Do I need to cap the 2 lines coming through the fire wall? Or can I just leave it open?
