Well, depends on the panel. Most panels, such as the fenders, bumpers, doors hood and trunk, you make the final cut with a sharp razor blade, leaving about .25-.50" extra, then tuck it around to the non-visible edge. For other panels, such as the rocker panels, rear 1/4 and roof, there are areas you can tuck and areas you have to do a clean line.

Anyway, I'm making the order tomorrow. I looked into the group buy a little more. The guy I contacted earlier is a bit more expensive, but I'm getting more material and higher quality material.

As far as sun resistance goes, I'll see how it holds up. If the roof and hood last 2 years or so, No big deal, I'll have extra, You peel and replace. If it starts to fade within a few months, I'll have to look for a more durable alternative, such as this:
CARBON FIBER VINYL STICKERS DECALS SAME AS 3M 20"x48" : eBay Motors (item 160411939904 end time Mar-12-10 09:20:48 PST)

Anyhow, I expect that it'll last 3-5 years, keep in mind, our cars do have external Vinyl from factory.

One nice thing about vinyl, it's more resistant to scratching. I'd be pissed to have a badass paintjob and have someone scratch or ding my car

What do you mean by this??

Good for you for having the guts to try this and following through with something realatively uncharted. I personally can't wait to see the results. I thought about doing this lately and I have looked into it myself, but I am scared of the install. Judging from your past endeavors you should be able to pull this off with good results. Hopefully it goes well for you and you can give us the techniques you used and also let us know what areas gave you the most trouble. Good luck!

All OEM vehicles have some form of vinyl from the factory. Look at your door pillars, and you're likely to see a black vinyl piece there for "asthetics".

yeah plus you can easily replace any parts that got damage using vinyl, not like a paint job where you have to paint certain section of the car to make it look right.

I'd be interested to see a gloss vinyl used. I'm curious how the "depth of field" would look on a vehicle completely done in a vinyl.

So what is the cost do a complete wrap on a P10? The paint on my DD is oxidizing like a mofo.

Well, rust has to be treated, either way, not to mention, you need some sort of paint or primer underneath, vinyl alone will not protect against rust. I don't appear to have much rust on my car, I'm going to lightly sand and fill some areas, but not enough to where I have any bare metal.

My final cost is going to be around $400 with shipping. That will leave me with extra material to either keep as backup or do some interesting things with the red car. I'm going to go very conservative on the cutting so that I can have as much left over as possible. When it comes in, I'll keep you all updated on the progress. I plan to start with the front fenders, hood, grille, headlight guards (P10/B13 thing).

ive seen a few wrap threads on honda-tech.

it looked nice, nicer then the paint that it covered. no depth what so ever.

ninetyninesel not trying to discourage you, but what about the old 100 dollar paint job threads from a few years ago, with rustoleum a roller and some wet sand paper ?

they had some stellar results.
