car randomly turns off
it started randomly turning off during drives but it also does it while at idle. once it happened while taking a drive with one of my boys on here. we both thought it was the coil. it shuts off. if you try to re-start it immediately it refuses, but it will start a minute or two later. i have since changed the coil three times and the distributor twice. i changed the maf also today. all replacement parts were used but in good shape nonetheless. im running out of ideas. any help will be greatly appreciated.

My car used to do that. It stopped doing it when I put the new motor in it. But all jokes aside. Does all power turn off or just your engine.

This same thing was happening with my DE. When we put the vvl in it was doing the same thing, actually it was just not starting. We ran the internal coil distributor that came with the ve and eliminated all that other stuff and it started right up. Have you replaced the ignitor chip?

sounds like when my thermal transistor went out...I think its the same as igniter chip Xnissan240X is talking about.
My car would shut off randomly, and start later just fine.It would always start when the engine was cold(like first thing in th morning)
It even tested out according to the FSM...but when it got hot,I guess it was messing up.

hey eggmanare you referring to the power transistor, located directly behind the coil? if so, this was next to change on my list. i have a few good ones laying around...
