Thread: Rust on cam lobes....

While working on my motor I noticed that a few lobes have rust on them. They are out of the motor. So what can I do to clean this off so it doesn't cause any issues?

Emery cloth cleans them up pretty good. Make sure you get the fine stuff though(1000+).

Worked like a charm man. Thanx alot.... I was really worried about this but just lightly going from side to side and then a little back and forth worked out perfectly. Some reason the rust was concentrated on the head of the lobes.
