Plug Wires
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I just picked up a 96 SE-R. I'm trying to do a full tune up amongst other things and I'm wondering what are the best spark plug wires for my car. My car has a JWT pop charger, JWT ecu, and a Full exhaust if that helps at all. Thanks for your input.

I usually use Nissan or NGK wires.... I prefer O.E. though.

The list:

1. Ultra
2. OEM (Sumitomo)
3. NGK
4. Nothing else.

Dre can chime in, I think this list is close to his. Personally, I have the NGK Blues and they're just fine.

I can't get a good source for Racing Beat Ultra Wires, however I do for Mazda and Toyota but the pricing of those cables made me lose interest in them anyway. However it is still unclear to me how to get them.

So I run new cheapo cables from a small UK company and they only made the engine run smoother against the stock Nissan cables which are pretty old and barely within spec according to FSM.

I also have an option to get Nipparts cabling for 50 euro's from a local company, which overhere, is a decent price. However, it lacks the coil cable. I really do have a coil cable, and the stock Nissan one was in so bad shape, just replacing that for a universal one made the problem go away.

But I am always interested in getting a smoother running engine/ more joy to drive and I don't worry too much about ''+5HP'' wires.

Best offer I can get is the ''NGK'' wires from E-bay with the Iridium plugs, Iridium plugs are not very cheap overhere, so including postage it's not a bad deal.

But are those really the NGK wires everybody is referring to in this thread?

What stumps me is that I don't see a coil cable offered anywhere, not even in a Dutch store that offers parts from various brands, it shows a picture of the cables with a ''no coil'' text in that picture

The coil cable I have is just as good/bad then the ''Nothing else'' cables I have.

Am I missing something?
