I was going to say MAF as well, typically the first thing to check. Unfortunately, it's hard to diagnose something like this, it's hard to tell exactly what's causing the ECU to go into a limp mode.

are you throwing any codes? Try scanning the computer at Autozone, even if the light isn't on (burnt out bulb).

First things I would check: Air intake temp sensor, front O2 sensor, EGR equipment, possibly the AAC valve and the IACV. It could be a clogged cat, see if you can't get yourself a test pipe. If it's time for the maintenance, a new cap, rotor, and plugs can't hurt.

Make sure that your tps sensor's wiring checks out - I had 2 strands of copper left on one of my wires somehow and when they heated up after a bit of higher voltage spikes, it would drive fine, hesitate for a second, then drive fine again, typically at 80+kph.
