g20 hesitation
I have a 93 g20 p10 5 speed, and ever since I picked it up its been acting a bit strange. Every time it warms up, it loses pickup. It feels like its pulling tining under load. It ONLY does this after its warmed up....when its cold, its peppy as hell. It seems to be progressive also....as it warms up, power progressively diminishes. It bucks a little under wot. Butagain, its perfect when its cold. Could a faulty engine temp sensor do this? Or a faulty knock sensor maybe? Those are my gueses, I wanted your input. Thanks guys.

What do your plugs look like? rich? lean? Could be several things. Warm her up and check spark as well, could be a coil showing weakness.

Try replacing your Coolant Temp Sensor. It is 12 bucks and is a good place to start with a problem like this.

Hmmmmok so coolant tempsensor is a goodguess then? Luckily I have a few of these cars so I jhave spare parts. I was thinking coil also, just wasn't sure seing as it seemed to be based on the temp of the engine. Good, well ill try that.

Its not the coolant temp sensor. If that was the case then it would run well when it was warm. Not bad.

Im going to say its your maf. Ive have two NX's that had this problem. They run perfect until they get to a certain temp. Then after that temp if they get any hotter they run like you have a bad headgasket unless you can keep them cool. I think the magic RPM was like 4k for it to start stuttering and then if it got even hotter it would drop down to over 3k for the stutter. When I swapped in my DET I also put in a Z32 maf and the problem went away. All my other sensors were reused not new ones. Try switching the maf with another.

Maf!

My B13 did that for some time. I cleaned the Maf, and now it feels like brand new again!
