Leaky transmission
I have 2 leaks really. One is coming from the shaft from the shifter that enters the back of the transmission, there is a rubber boot that is supposed to cover it but it doesn't stay in the transmission. Is there supposed to be a seal somewhere near there that could be missing? Or perhaps the boot should stay but something is wrong?

The other leak is coming from an unknown location. i thought it may be form where I put my passenger side axle in but there isn't any gear oil coming from there. Perhaps I have a tiny tint crack? It will leave a puddle about fist size overnight. Any thoughts or common places I should check? I tired of dripping my lightweight in the driveway!

There is a seal on the shifter shaft, It goes into the tranny like an axle seal. You have to punch out the roll pin on the shift linkage connection on the trans and take that off, Take the boot off, then take the seal out and replace it. Greg can get these seals. They are all of like 3 or 5 bucks. Just one seal btw. Its possible you could have a leak at the case or its running down. Or if it looks like its coming from under the passenger axle you could have cracked the case as that is where its common for it to happen. But usually you will lose all your oil within the first day.

Awesome, thank you! I start with the seal for the shifter linkage.

I just changed a shift rod seal. The connection arm might not want to loosen up. I rented a slide hammer and claw from O'Reilly's that did the trick.

THe sensors are common locations for leaks. Also check your drain plug. I had a leak that I thought was a coming from the gap between the gear case, and clutch housing. I was wrong it was actually starting at my drain plug and traveling down to the middle of the transmission. I fixed my leak by putting some sealant on my plug and torquing it down to spec.

Alright sounds good. When I get it back I'll do this.

Transmission case & clutch release ? Illustration #1, Nissan SENTRA 1993

It's part 12 in the diagram.

To change the input shaft seal you'd have to open the case. Not that easy of a job. If you had a bad input shaft seal you'd probably see trans fluid leaking into the clutch area.
