Actually, he did. Cam physics and how it related to engine power and management is a full textbook. It's a ridiculously lengthy and complicated topic. So, by asking this, Topdog effectively wanted someone to summarize 1/4 of a basic automotive degree in a post.

Cory and others, you've completely misunderstood what I had to say. When I mentioned getting paid I was trying to explain to Topdog how much effort he's asking the forum members to impart in a short period of time.

This is one of many threads Topdog has started with a similar lack of respect for how much effort is involved on the other side of the coin. It doesn't seem like he has any idea why his threads are not getting the attention he expects so I thought I'd try to explain it to him. While his questions might be understandable as a member new to forums in general, Topdog has been around here long enough for me to expect him to have learned what kinds of questions will be answered, and which will not.

If I'm wrong, please prove it to me. I would love one of you to answer his question in a non-superficial way. I'm sure Topdog and others would appreciate it as well.

I don't "think I should be getting paid". Don't insult me by twisting my words.

Cory you said that if it's complicated I should simply say so and that would work. I decided to also explain to him why he's not going to get what he's asked for because he seems to have a track record of these types of questions. Maybe I should have stayed out of it or just said it was complicated. I'll try that in the future.

Its called common sense, he did not ask him to write a book. He was asking a question. He must have thought it was not as complex as it is. I'm sure he was looking for a rough understanding of what the purpose is, and such. No one expects to get page after page long single responses.

Do what you do, just don't expect us to bow dow, this is a forum where we contribute for the good of the forum. Give credit where it is due, I am not saying otherwise.

I don't. I never have. I never will. My ego as depicted by some members on this forum doesn't exist. I don't expect nor want to be treated any differently than anyone else. Where ever you got that idea, I guarantee you it wasn't intentional on my part.

Just to be clear.

As for being off topic, I'm going to do my best to stay out of this thread in the future unless I have something constructive to add (ie: not defending myself).

Sorry for dragging you in here Ben. The explanation I gave should be enough to give ,whomever, an idea where to look for lots of info.

I agree. Ben posted a link, I suggest the OP start there as well as look at other resources. This isn't the type of thread that can be answered with a statement. If the OP honestly wants to know, he's going to have to research and learn. "Mixing and matching cams" is a very delicate procedure, and can change a whole crap-ton of things.

Now, if OP wants to know what the advantage of Cam Set A vs Cam Set B will be, that's easily done. We can do that.
