I see what youre saying.

But I have bench tested it since the hot and smell and it worked flawlessly.

So when I put it back on the car and give it power, it should at least click, but its not.

Something tells me its a ground but I dont know what else to do/check.

if its not clicking than its not getting a signal I believe?

how can it be a wiring problem when the starter is fed directly and does nothing? get a jumper cable and hook it up to ur battery. run the black to the starter body. red to the hot on the starter. and touch the signal wire to the red wire. every touch it should crank. if it dosent, then its the starter. or u have a dead battery.

It is a little difficult to hook the big jumper cable ground to the starter body because of the starters location, So I clamped it on the bolt that holds the starter to the trans. Im now wondering if thats is a sufficient ground.

There is a plug that plugs into the starter for the signal isnt there?

Yes there is but I have the starter directly wired to power, bypassing any wires or harnesses on the car.

Doesnt matter, The starter needs the signal wire on the solenoid for the plunger to move the starter gear out and cross the main power for the starter motor.

Check your starter signal wire, make sure its for one plugged in, two that its getting signal. Test to see if your getting 12V to the signal when the key is turned and clutch depressed.

It def needs the signal because if it was wired directly to power it would spin all day long

UPDATE!

Well.... I dont know how to say this....but it cranks now.

I was graced with the presence of "The All Mighty Gino" and I decided to show him what the car was doing. So I hooked it all back up... and it cranks now. WTF?!? I dunno what I did besides move some wires around. Maybe a short some where I guess. But it works now.

Tomorrow I put it all back together and fire it up again.....hopefully.

Your signal wire might be broken. Or how you say cable-break in English...
