I havent tried that.
Let me go check.

also u will kill the starter if u put constant 12v to the signal wire. it only suppose to see voltage when u turn the key in the crank position. ur suppose to just touch the signal wire to 12v and it should crank, as long as it has the direct 12v goin to in and a ground. if that doesnt happen, u prob killed it by supplying the 12v signal wire with constant 12v. did u smell any weird smell or smoke? the the starter get hot any time?

When he was bench testing it as long as he didn't let it spin for long periods of time he should be okay. I mean even 10 seconds or more wouldn't be too bad. It's not like there's any load on it.

Ok im back...

The ground hooked directly to the starter from the batt via jumper cable did not work.

And I understand that the signal wire is not supose to be connected to the constant.

I did that earlier, the starter did get hot and smell funny so I pulled it out and bench tested again and it still works outside the car.

I would go over the harness and check all connections that you might of taken off or removed to work back there. Starter is out of the question for me

Im ready to pull the intake back off man, this is getting so old. I have pulled the starter about 10 times seriously.

Even If I go over that harness again why would that stop the starter from cranking if it is directly wired to the battery?

Is there some other grounds I should check?? I have check the ones behind the mani and the one on the tstat.. Is there another one somewhere Im forgetting?

Man this **** is crazy, you have to see it to believe it.
