Thread: oil filter adapter

I have a pair of oil filter adapters and they're quite different. The smaller one came from my '95 SE-R and the big, bulky one came off my bluebird motor. I'd like to use the smaller one, from the 200sx if I can. It has the shorter shaft (makes adding my oil pressure adapter a breeze) and takes up much less space. Does anybody know what that extra thing is on the Bluebird adapter? It has 2 water lines going to and from it.
They both fit with no issues.

The one on the right in a heat exchanger/oil cooler. Those rubber hoses go connected to the coolant hardline behind the block. If you have i DET i say keep it, if you dont id say toss it unless you have oil squirter on a DE.
