Thread: DE/DET VS VE Alternator pulley...

Has anyone else noticed that there are at least two different sized alternator pulleys? I have and UR crank and water pump pulley on my car and noticed today that my belt was too big for my new alternator. The belt that I had to search for because the stock one wouldnt fit with the UR pulleys. Well I swapped over pulleys instead of going to find another belt. But anyone else ever had that prob. Just thought it was kinda wierd...

i had that prob when i got an alt. from autozone....pulley was like a 1/4 bigger...then swapped pulleys and wala.....sorry bout the manifold...

I tried to swap housings from a det alternator to a de and they weren't the same either, so it doesn't surprise me.

Its all good man. I didnt really need it anyway. I was just gonna hold on to it. Knowing N2boost itll be up for sale in a month anyway lol. But That bigger pulley is the one I used. I skipped using the smaller one. I guess itll be my Autozone "underdrive" pulley!
