Another car won't start thread
Well when I went to clean the half a foot of snow off of my car this morning, I also found out that my car wont start. The car won't crank. The battery is fine its got power and there is no corrosion on my terminals. I have my clutch switch bypassed, but I checked it and its still good. The starter signal fuse is still good. The ignition switch works, the fuel pump kicks on and the dash lights up. At this point, i'm leaning towards the starter, but I just figured I'd ask if anyone else had problems like this that involved a stupid fix cuz I really don't wanna lay on the ground right now to change a starter that I'm not sure is bad in the first place although I guess if I got under the car I could just test the wires going to the starter and make sure its seeing 12v. I can't get to the starter to tap on it. I looked for a relay for the starter, but I didn't see one. I'm out of simple solution ideas at this point. Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

Gotta love these cars bro. I did mine not too long ago in freezing weather!

Check out the ground wire that is above the thermostat housing. Its the one that comes off the battery to the chassis to the block. I had that once get corroded and ****ty on me and went to go start the car and nothing. Got a new starter still no cranking and then found that. Hopefully its something simple. If it comes down to the starter, I know if you find someone with a jdm automatic starter, it will work. It did for me at least. Text me if you can't find one and i'll see what I can do.

x2

Same exact thing happened to me, new starter and all, just because of a faulty ground.

Every time i have had a starting issue, it was the ground wire from batter/chassis/t-stat housing. Usually it was because of the chassis ground point being bad or the cable being rotted out from corrosion.

Well, I checked the t-stat ground and its as clean as it was in 1995. My dad and I were messing around with things and determined that there is no signal to the starter. The starter has 12v constant, but nothing from the signal wire. We hooked a remote starter up to it and it cranked right over. Also, the starter signal block in the fuse block has power so I don't think its the ignition switch. Checked every fuse in the car and there all good. Its too cold and dark to continue. I think its time for some push button start action.
