For regular "street" use, I guess it can work, though, but I've seen comparisons first hand between Mobil 1 and Motul when a Motul rep came to my sponsor's shop for a demo (we now call him the "lube guy" :rofl. The difference under heat was a bit scary.

Just to know they used Mobil 1 to make their product look good was enough for me to not touch that oil with a 10-foot pole.

what wont you touch mobil 1 or Motul ?

I use mainly Motul for all fluids in my car.

I would never touch Mobil 1 with a 10-ft pole.

yep. That's what I used, and it's working awesome.

Jer

well Jer,, in Nascar they use full synthetic in all of them,, Hendricks uses Quaker sludge because they pay them to use it,, Joe Gibbs makes his own, they all use what pays the most,, as long as it's synthetic it works good,, and opinions on this matter will go on and on and on and on opps sorry was getting carried away.....

Ergo, all of 'em keep the bearing surfaces apart - - -. Sounds like many folks make the usual emotional decisions with absolutely no data. At least the circle guys take money.

Don't fergit to let me know when you come ta town again, bud. . Sorry I hafta miss the first one.

Run your oil for awhile (a couple of changes), and then send it in for anaylsis. That is the sure way to tell if it is good. You will also learn what is a good mileage to use for changing it.
I have done this with Castrol Syntec and am now at 318,000 miles with no leaks, but any oil will work if you chnage it when you need to.

lol

Gotcha, Motul is a big no-no for lawn mowers.

The thing is, a Mobil 1 sample was used as a basis for comparison when the Motul rep came to my sponsor's shop to teach us all we need to know about motor oil. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean Motul is that good (even though I know through experience it is), but it sure steered me away from Mobil 1.
