Thread: help me with my car?

it's over heating. only while driving. at idle it will go down to normal. both fans turn on. no heat comes out. it just happened this morning when it was -14 degrees out. thanks for any help. is it my water pump or the t-stat?

sounds like the thermostat is stuck closed and not letting the coolant circulate.

thank you for the response. i keep researching my overheating issue and so many things keep coming up that can be wrong. i really hope its just the t-stat. Thank you!

What about lack of coolant? T-stat, or radiator clogged.

We had a Dakota that would overheat at hwy speeds, but at idle the temp would go down.

Turned out to be a clogged radiator.

coolant has been at a good. level there's no leak. that i have noticed. it just happened this morning. i'm assuming the weather had something to do with it. coolant spilled into the over flow tank and was boiling. t-stat is what i will be fixing first.

everything is well now. changed the t-stat and topped off with coolant. heater blows warmer now and no more overheating. i didn't test the old t-stat though. but all is well now. thank you for all the input!
