Thread: Shakey oil pressure gauge reading.

I don't know if it is my gauge or what but lately my oil pressure gauge shakes/fluctuates as much as 4-5 PSI. It is an autometer cobalt series gauge. When I say fluctuate I mean it moves/vibrates so fast back and forth that the needle is a blur. It happens in all ranges of RPM. I have an extra gauge that I am going to throw in to see if it happens with that one but I don't have the time to do it as of right now. This doesn't mean my oil pump is going does it? I hope it is just a faulty gauge. I don't want to get stranded, or sieze the motor for that matter.
