Front Cover Question
Hey everyone. I looked in the FSM and front cover removal is part of the timing chain removal. Is it possible to remove the front cover without removing the head? I want to change some seals in there and put a new bead of silicone on my spare engine. Wanted to see if I can do this without removing the head.

Yes, you can remove the front cover without removing the head. Obviously the upper and lower pans would come off, too.

You have to remove the waterpump pulley, though, IIRC.

i was told that the upper pan wouldn't need to be pulled, just unbolt 2 bolts that connect the front cover to the upper pan? can this be confirmed anybody?
