Thread: clutch slipping at track but not anymore?

yea i toasted my stock clutch pretty quick heh, silly springs..

When you say it's slipping, do you mean that it slips between shifts instead of chirping the tires, or do you mean that once you're fully in gear it still slips and slips?

I think eggman is on to something. I'd bet the pressure plate you paired it with is not nearly strong enough.

Once the car is in gear it starts slipping at mid to high rpms. Last night after I left the track I got into it and it was not slipping. Tonight I was driving around and at about 5k it started to slip.

It might have glazed over and either won't ever recover or may recover ever so slowly. I do think it was the PP that did you in.

The video was removed haha. But I guess eggman has a pretty gnarly clutch for me. I am just out 100 bucks on the B15 disc.

when i popped a spring out of mine it would do that too, thats when i knew something was wrong, then it started having starting problems, if i started it in gear it would buck even tho my foot was on the clutch, if i started it out of gear it wouldnt engage..

Could it be that I just stretched the clutch cable?

I had a friend that had a similar problem. Turned out that the fingers from the pressure plate was damaged. It all seemed normal until it was removed. We could actually wiggle the fingers by hand, which should be a nearly impossible task to do. Either way you will have to remove the transmission to find out. I doubt it's your clutch cable for the symptoms your describing.

think about it, would that make any sense?
