Here are some pics of the pacesetter,stock and B&M for comparo..


As you can see the adjustable pacesetter actually puts the shifter slightly closer to you than the B&M.
Also,the Pacesetter uses the stock pivot assembly,so it is less prone to rattling.
The B&M is sturdy as Fawk,but the metal to metal pivot has been subject of rattling complaints after they get older.
Just my .02
They both shift nicely,but yeah moving the stock ball is the best bang for the buk...or no buck

Theres a writeup if you search,but basically put the shifter in a vice and beat the dookie out of it to move the ball up,and then you need to JB otr tack weld it so it stays

i have a pacesetter short shifter with the custom steel solid bracket and the energy suspension bushing and it is the best feeling shifter in my opinion it is nice and solid and very smooth shifting , i have used many combos but this one is by far my favorite

the Ralco RZ Short Throw Shifter is just like the b&m short throw shifter.

installed my Ralco RZ short shifter today

lets see what happens in a few days after my clutch is finished breaking in

if you can find a used discontinued SMC shifter from early 2000, its well worth it (adjustable)

pic and text from modified mag issue featuring scc project 200sx
The SMC quick shifter is adjustable by screwing the white nylon fulcrum ball up and down to change the throw ratio.

I personally like the TWM shifters. I have one on my Forester and one on the Celica All-trac.
