Try changing the pivot point of the stock one, at least its free so no money gets wasted

Moving the ball up on the stock shifter is the only good option these days now that Pacesetter doesn't make theirs anymore. There are threads on how to do it but it's pretty self explanatory. Search if you'd like.

I find the stock shifter on my B13 with replacement ES bushings to be so good I wouldn't mess with it. I changed to a shorter knob from a R32 GT-R, it's perfect. I've used short shifters from B&M, others and I really can't see how it would be better - with a lot of track use where fast smooth shifts count for a lot, what I have works great.

How I got it with stock shifter (and stock on my other car) and bushings vs. current shifter. Not so obvious but the top of the shift knob sits quite a bit lower, and with bushings it is very smooth and precise.

Sorry not the greatest pic, Blackberry...

I love my B&M short shifter,, and recently I did the Es bushing upgrade and what a difference! ....

the B&M and Pacesetters are the best! ,, I personally perfer the B&M which are hard to find and the Pacesetter no longer around will make it hard to come by...

if nothing else definitely do the ES bushing upgrade with your stock shifter, keep watching Ebay,, those B&M's pop up every now and then

here's a pick of the B&M

Did the ES bushing and moved the pivot ball to the exact throw distance I like. Never had a problem and it feels fantastic.

What do you have to do to move the pivot point?
