gas cap, timing, air filter, clean sensors

Timing is the same as it has always been and the air filter is clean.

press the gas pedal... slowly ..
look for the CEL codes (check engine light), although the light doesn't turned on.
if there's smell a gasoline, check for any leak.
Check the pressure tires too.
There are many things to check.

That funny because I did all of those and my milage is still bad in my car. I am getting about 60 miles per 5 gallons of gas, it would be nice to get the 100+ miles like I should. Everything is stock. Except for the K&N drop in filter. I do have a small exhaust leak but I doubt this would cause a dramatic change in mileage .

I got about 110 and can probably drive another 30 miles on this half tank. Mine is getting better...

You're telling me you're only getting 12mpg? You've got some serious issues if that's the case.

110 for how many gallons? If you've got bad mpg, having the actual number will help to see how bad it really is. The gas gauge is not an accurate measure, as many know. Miles driven and how many gallons you put back in at the pump is the best way, hands down.

Thats the way I do it. I was just stating how far i went. I was going like 90 miles on a half tank.
But alot of people in my area are getting bad MPG. I think they are putting too much ethanol in the gas.

Do not buy gas w/ ethanol. Just find all the local gas stations that advertise with "ethanol free"

Try regrounding your MAF sensor. That is usually the cause. I dropped to 9mpg before someone suggested that. Once I regrounded, I started back to 30+mpg on freeway drives!

Also, don't go by half tank readings-go by actual fill-up mileage. I would get 110 per half tank, then get 300 out of the whole tank. It was really strange. Once I got 120 miles on empty before the light came on. The B13 gas tank level senders are notorious for being inaccurate. I always rezeroed the trip meter with fill ups, and used that as the gas gauge!
